Wendy A Cook

I am a barrister and mediator, having been in practice for 20 years. I had a solely Criminal Law based practice for many years but have since diversified into Family Law and Mediation.

Prior to qualifying at the Independent Bar I spent three years based at the Central Criminal Court (Old Bailey) working for the Crown Prosecution Service. In practice I maintained a mixed diary of both prosecution and defence working, although latterly I developed an almost exclusively defence orientated practice.

In addition to Criminal work, I kept a small Civil and Family practice. This practice has expanded and I am fully committed to the principles advance by resolution, to reduce and manage any conflict and confrontation. I deal in all matters relating to children and Financial Disputes ( not via Direct Access)and have dealt with representation in welfare and access cases involving local authorities.

I continue to deal with  some  civil law matters.

In all aspects of practice Clients are the driving force in my approach. They are given objective honest advice and are kept fully appraised of all aspects of their case. In using this approach I have experience better Client outcomes and resolutions.
